Here is an article on how to build your own paintball gun, specifically a Tippman sniper rifle.

Materials:

  • A Tippmann
  • A quiet barrel
  • A remote kit
  • Practice

Here are the steps on how to put to together your own Tippman sniper rifle:

  • The two most important things that have a direct effect on your accuracy are the paintball and the barrel combination. With this in mind, purchase a suitable barrel. The Tipmann’s Flatline Barrel System has been proven to considerably increase your range.
  • Find a paintball to match the barrel you’ve chosen. Finding the appropriate paintball for your barrel will increase your accuracy, as well as allow for a greater acceleration for your paintballs.Â
  • Use a sight instead of a scope. A sight can either be a red dot or simple iron sights. These are a great idea to get constantly accurate shots. Paintballs can go for about 200 feet at maximum range, with an aim range between 75 and 100 feet. Â
  • Get a remote kit. This will provide for an extensively lighter gun and will allow you to crawl quickly and move better as well.
  • Camouflage and any other form of concealment are very important. Your gun has to be difficult to make out since a sniper’s performance depends on his ability to conceal himself. Â
  • Purchase a stock. The stock may or may not contribute to your accuracy as a sniper; however, it will greatly improve your gun’s stability, especially when being held while in a standing position.

Here are some tips on caring for and using your newly made sniper rifle:

  • Take good care of your gun. Learning how to clean your gun first before learning how to use it is always the best way to go about this aspect of paintball gun use.Â
  • Learn to camouflage your gun. Take all the steps needed to make your gun less noticeable when on the playing field. Stick some brush onto your gun while you wait for the enemy to come within your range.
  • Avoid putting anything shiny or any attention grabbing object on your gun. This will most definitely defeat the purpose of the camouflage.Â
  • Steer clear of using anything big on your gun. This is sure to call attention to you and your hiding place when playing paintball.

Paintball snipers are strategists. They use only few paintballs and spend most of duration of the game in hiding and observing. A sniper in a paintball game needs to get close to the enemy to be assured of a one shot kill. This would mean that you are required to be within the enemy’s range. With this thought, you have to be well concealed and you must also be able to hit the target you are shooting at, be it moving or standing still. Your gun should allow you to do this without too much inconvenience.

You do not need to go out and spend a lot of money on gun accessories like scopes, stabilizers, bipods, grille covers and barrels. These things will not make you a better at the game. Instead, practice cleaning your gun, practice shooting, cocking and go through the motions of using your gun while you are at home. This will prepare you for the real game and allow you to move around rather easily and more naturally. This will also allow you to be at your most comfortable level when out on the playing field since constant practice allows for an unconscious and instinctive manner of doing things, allowing you to freely concentrate on your enemy and your strategy.
