Paintball guns or markers, as they are sometimes called, are used to propel a paintball at a high speed rate. A basic paintball gun uses a compressed gas propulsion system. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) or Nitrogen (N) or ordinary air can be used for this system. The gas is stored in small cartridges or tanks that are attached to the paintball gun. A hopper is also attached to gun. This is the part that contains the paintballs.

Different types of guns have different firing mechanisms and systems; however, they still employ the same basic thought. The guns are cocked in a manner that allows the paintball to drop out of the hopper and into the barrel of the gun. A small gust of the compressed air will then be released into the barrel of the gun behind the paintball to push the paintball and impel it forward.

A type of paintball gun, the Autococker paintball guns, has adjustable valves that mechanically divert the compressed gas to the front area of the gun upon firing. The gas pushes the bolt back and recocks the gun. Another type of paintball gun, the Automatic paintball gun, uses the compressed air or an electric motor to repeatedly recock the gun after each fire. This goes on as long as the trigger is being held down.

Stringent regulations are being enforced to standardize the power of paintball guns to make the game safe. The paintball guns that are used for playing games are adjusted to attain a top speed of only 300 feet per second. This is because paintballs traveling at this speed is not likely to cause any severe injury. The paintballs discharged by these paintball guns may only sting a bit and leave a slight bruise if it hits you directly on the skin.

Using a paintball gun can be described as a cross between firing a real gun and tossing a ball. The paintball propelled by the gun will hit the ground at a shorter distance, so if one intends to fire at someone at a far distance, he would have to tilt his gun up at a certain angle to allow the paintball to travel through the air at an arc. All this is because of the fact that the paintball gun’s firing range is considerably limited because of the slow projectile speed.

Paintball guns were not made for use in sport. The popular paintball gun of today started out as a tool for foresters in the 1970s. Individuals who worked for the forestry and agriculture industries would use the guns to put marks on specific trees, for use in research or for planning trails. The guns were also used to mark cattle.

The paintball gun grew from its humble beginnings as a forestry tool in to a piece of equipment for a very popular game when some foresters or farmers decided to shoot the guns at each other and invented the game of paintball. The game didn’t really soar into the state of popularity that it enjoys now until the year 1981, when some weekend warriors got their hands on a few forester guns and make use of them as weapons for a grown up adaptation of the children’s game “capture the flag.”

In the game of paintball, two teams try to take the other team’s flag while defending their own flag from being captured. Players are taken out of the activity when a paintball hits them. There are referees involved in the game. The referees are there to make sure that no type of physical contact between other players occur, he also proclaims a hit player “down.”

Most paintball games last for about 15 to 40 minutes; however, some players will play for hours on end. Paintball games can be played with only a handful of members on a team or hundreds of players per team.

Here is an article on how to build your own paintball gun, specifically a Tippman sniper rifle.

Materials:

A Tippmann

A quiet barrel

A remote kit

Practice

Here are the steps on how to put to together your own Tippman sniper rifle:

The two most important things that have a direct effect on your accuracy are the paintball and the barrel combination. With this in mind, purchase a suitable barrel. The Tipmann’s Flatline Barrel System has been proven to considerably increase your range.

Find a paintball to match the barrel you’ve chosen. Finding the appropriate paintball for your barrel will increase your accuracy, as well as allow for a greater acceleration for your paintballs.

Use a sight instead of a scope. A sight can either be a red dot or simple iron sights. These are a great idea to get constantly accurate shots. Paintballs can go for about 200 feet at maximum range, with an aim range between 75 and 100 feet.

Get a remote kit. This will provide for an extensively lighter gun and will allow you to crawl quickly and move better as well.

Camouflage and any other form of concealment are very important. Your gun has to be difficult to make out since a sniper’s performance depends on his ability to conceal himself.

Purchase a stock. The stock may or may not contribute to your accuracy as a sniper; however, it will greatly improve your gun’s stability, especially when being held while in a standing position.

Here are some tips on caring for and using your newly made sniper rifle:

Take good care of your gun. Learning how to clean your gun first before learning how to use it is always the best way to go about this aspect of paintball gun use.

Learn to camouflage your gun. Take all the steps needed to make your gun less noticeable when on the playing field. Stick some brush onto your gun while you wait for the enemy to come within your range.

Avoid putting anything shiny or any attention grabbing object on your gun. This will most definitely defeat the purpose of the camouflage.

Steer clear of using anything big on your gun. This is sure to call attention to you and your hiding place when playing paintball.

Paintball snipers are strategists. They use only few paintballs and spend most of duration of the game in hiding and observing. A sniper in a paintball game needs to get close to the enemy to be assured of a one shot kill. This would mean that you are required to be within the enemy’s range. With this thought, you have to be well concealed and you must also be able to hit the target you are shooting at, be it moving or standing still. Your gun should allow you to do this without too much inconvenience.

You do not need to go out and spend a lot of money on gun accessories like scopes, stabilizers, bipods, grille covers and barrels. These things will not make you a better at the game. Instead, practice cleaning your gun, practice shooting, cocking and go through the motions of using your gun while you are at home. This will prepare you for the real game and allow you to move around rather easily and more naturally. This will also allow you to be at your most comfortable level when out on the playing field since constant practice allows for an unconscious and instinctive manner of doing things, allowing you to freely concentrate on your enemy and your strategy.

An autococker paintball gun is a closed bolt semi automatic marker particularly noted for its customizability. Supporters of this type of paintball gun will also say that the design itself makes the marker more precise as compared to other markers since the bolt does not move upon pulling the trigger and also because the paintball is already inside the chamber at the moment of initiation for each firing cycle.

Bud Orr produced the very first Sniper pump marker in 1986. The original Sniper was made by carving a standard Sheridan PGP to allow for more space for a longer barrel. Orr established the Worr Game Products (WGP) in 1987 to market and to sell the products he had been developing. In 1990, Orr integrated the pneumatic system into his semi automatic pump markers. This pneumatic system mechanically re-cocked the gun after a shot is fired, that’s why it is called an Autococker.

The popularity of closed bolt markers has grown since the start of the paintball phenomenon. A lot of people would say that the Autococker, a type of a closed bolt marker, is more accurate than other types of markers, however, this is not true. The closed bolt marker has a low blowback, and that’s why it is considered to be more accurate than pump markers, blow backs and blow forwards. A low block back would mean a low kick, which translates into giving the user the advantage of shots that are consistently placed around the area he is aiming at without the bother of having the marker jolted out of his grip every time the trigger is pulled.

Consistency, together with a good match between your paint and the barrel plus a very reliable air setup, is the foremost factors in determining one’s accuracy. To get the best accuracy and consistency from your marker, use a good nitrogen tank as well as a pneumatic and inline regulator. Also, try to set up a good match between your paint of choice and your barrel. These items may be a bit pricey but they are sure to give your accuracy an added boost.

How does an autococker work?
The autococker is a two part closed bolted system that can be broken down into two parts for easier discussion and understanding.

The Firing Mechanism. When the gun is at rest, the bolt sits forward and closes the chamber; hence the name closed bolt system. Upon pulling the trigger, the hammer is released and is driven forward by a spring going into the valve. The valve then discharges a burst of gas which drives upward onto the bolt directing it to the area behind the paintball, forcing the paintball out of the gun’s barrel.

The Re-cocking Mechanism. The autococker’s pneumatic system performs the function of putting the hammer back into its original position to recompress the spring and load another paintball to prepare for the next shot. The two actions were performed by one pump in the original pump type marker. In the pneumatic system, both actions are accomplished by adding three components into the front area of the gun. First, there is the Low Pressure Regulator or LPR. The LPR brings down the pressure used for the pneumatic system. The second part is the 4-way valve. This valve directs the pressure toward the front or the back of the third and final component, which is known as the ram. The ram is the component that does the actual pumping.

The autococker is one of the more troublesome markers available today since it has a rather complex mechanism. If any part of the pneumatic system fails, one would often have a need for the services of an airsmith to fix the problem. The autococker will not spit out a paintball upon the first time the trigger is pulled, rather, it has to undergo the first cycle to put a paintball into the chamber first before it is able to fire out a projectile.

There are several different types of paintball guns. You do not need to be a very technical person to understand the different concepts presented on this article. This article explores the different types available in the market today, with information on the mechanism and the gun’s advantages and disadvantages.

Paintball guns or markers are categorized into two: the semi automatics and the pump action markers.

Semi-automatic markers are further divided into three sub categories. These categories are open bolt paintball markers, closed bolt paintball markers and blow forward paintball markers.

Open Bolt Paintball Markers

An open bolt paintball gun is the most common type of semi-automatic markers. This type is called “open bolt” due to the fact that the bolt is held back as the marker is cocked, remaining in the rearward position after every shot is made and leaving the chamber of the gun open.

When the gun’s trigger is pulled the component holding back the bolt, known as the sear, is dropped out of the way. The bolt then moves forward via pressure of the spring and moves a paintball into the chamber in the process. In the majority of markers, the hammer strikes the valve at the same time the ball is moved into the chamber, propelling the paintball out of the barrel. Some of the air intended to fire the ball is moved through a vent to force the bolt back into its open position.

The blow back semi-automatic also works in the same way. The terms “blow back semi-automatic” and “open bolt” are interchangeable. A greater part of the paintball guns in the market today use this open bolt mechanism. A great example would be the Kingman Spyder and the Angel, a marker that employs pneumatic ram.

Closed Bolt Paintball Markers

With the closed bolt markers, the bolt is in a forward position, or is closed, when the gun is cocked. When a shot is fired, the bolt is moved back and this allows for another paintball to move into the chamber. The bolt then moves to a closed position. For a pump marker, this process is done manually. An autococker is much like the pump marker but uses three components, the ram, 3-way and the Low pressure regulator, to re-cock itself.

The closed bolt system is reputed to greatly improve the accuracy of every shot, however scientific studies made on these markers show that a negligible amount of improvement in the shot consistency and accuracy.

The design of the closed bolt marker relies heavily on a pneumatic ram which in turn, is controlled by a pneumatic switch that is attached to the gun’s trigger. Upon firing, the trigger action activates the ram and moves the bolt back, cocks the gun and allows a paintball to move into the chamber. In most guns, the bolt stays back until such time that the trigger is released again. When this happens, the switch causes the ram to force the bolt forward and feeds the ball into the breech. This process is repeated until the trigger is depressed.

This system design is naturally more accurate since the bolt is in place upon firing. The range of the gun is also significantly increased with this design since all of the gas is used to impel the paintball and no air is vented away.

Blow Forward Paintball Markers

Blow forward paintball markers are paintball guns that use a semi-automatic system wherein the gas forces the bolt forward, moving a ball into the chamber and fires the paintball. The bolt is returned to its original position with the use of a spring, resetting the gun for another shot. This design is reliant on switches to operate the system and to regulate the flow of the air through the system. This design is also more efficient in managing gas since no gas is vented to operate the system’s re-cocking action.

Things to consider when buying affordable and cheap paintball guns

There are a lot of cheap and affordable tournament paintball guns in the market today. Some of these guns will give you a rather good performance despite the minimal cost, and some will end up as a total waste of your time and money.
If you are looking to buy paintball guns that will not break your budget, look through these tips before doing so. The information presented here will help you in determining which paintball guns will provide you the most excellent value for your money. You need to make sure that the money you are spending is put to the best use, considering the budget you have allocated for the paintball gun is rather limited. To get the best value for your money, do a lot of research first before making the decision on purchasing a gun.

Action
Affordable paintball guns have three basic kinds of actions, these are the pump action, hybrid blow back (these guns come with an electronic trigger frame) and semi-automatic blow back action (open bolt guns). The action determines how quickly the gun shoots and the amount of work needed to make the gun fire. You have to know what kind of action you want since each kind of action provides for a different manner of operation for the paintball gun.

Performance
The performance of a paintball gun covers many aspects. This can mean the rate of fire, range or accuracy. It can also mean reliability. Cheap paintball guns have a tendency to perform erratically, performing well one day or with a specific kind of paint and performing badly or not at all, on the next day. When looking at purchasing a cheap paintball gun, you need to find one that is known to work consistently in the manner that it is supposed to work.

Construction
A paintball gun sold at an inexpensive price will usually mean that it was made cheaply. Since paintball guns will go through a lot of abuse during play, you will need to find a gun that is as durable as any cheap paintball gun can be. Try looking for a body and grip made out of metal instead of plastic. Also, look for sturdy construction. You wouldn’t want your paintball gun to fall apart while you are on the playing field.

Air Supply
A cheap way to power your paintball gun is to use carbon dioxide. Avoid using paintball guns that use CO2 cartridges, instead, try going for the CO2 bottle or tanks. Since some guns will not run very well on CO2, do your research to make sure your gun is compatible with CO2.

Maintenance
A very important aspect of using paintball guns is cleaning it and taking care of it well. Most inexpensive paintball guns have simple parts and are relatively easy to take apart and put back together. You might come across some guns that have insides that are easily scratched, try looking for a gun that will cause you the least amount of trouble.

Packages and Kits
A great number of inexpensive paintball guns come in packages and kits. These kits have all you need to get started for playing paintball. Most kits come with a mask, a squeegee, CO2 tank, hopper and a barrel plug. Kits will allow you to save time and money but purchasing items in packages might mean that you will not get the exact kind of mask you want or the size of tank you want. You will need to compromise when buying a paintball gun package.

Upgrades
A lot of guns will perform better with upgraded parts. You want to get a gun that will allow for upgrades, instead of a gun that needs upgrades. You need to buy a gun that can grow with you and your experience on the field. It should work well for you as a beginner and should also serve its purpose once you’ve become more adept and more skilled at the game.

Here are some cheap paintball guns that you can use:

Kingman Imagine LED

Kingman Spyder Rodeo

Kingman Spyder TL-X

Kingman Spyder Xtra

Tippman 98 Custom

For more options, you can try looking at refurbished or used paintball guns. You can also find great buys through online auctions. With smarts and a bit of luck, you might just end up with a paintball marker that is cheap and will last you a long time. When looking to buy inexpensive markers, it pays to be informed. Before shelling out your cash, know exactly what gun you are buying and from whom.

Some tips on buying your own paintball gun

People new to the game of paintball might find themselves in a bind when buying their first paintball gun. A lot of new players out there end up being dissatisfied with their first gun purchases for reasons that could have been easily avoided if they had taken a little more time and consideration before going out and buying their gun.

With a bit of research and a little hard work, you can get to experience something that a lot of neophytes have not, and that is: loving the first paintball gun you’ve ever purchased. You can do this despite the presence of the many choices of different varieties and brands of paintball guns out there.

Here are some tips and things to consider when buying your first ever paintball marker:

Take your time before buying a new gun.
Take your time and wait. Though you do not need to know everything about a specific paintball gun to make a good choice, you still need to have gone to a few paintball games before you go out and buy your own equipment. There are some guns and other equipment available for rent; however, if you can not rent the equipment, you can try borrowing a gun from your friends. Try playing a few games using the rented or borrowed equipment to get a feel for the gun. Use this time to figure out the things you like and don’t like about a type of gun. Determine what kind of field you like to play on and establish a game style that fits you. You can then buy your own gun after you have gone through these motions.

Do some research and be informed!
Do not go out and buy a paintball gun at random. You might end up going home with an expensive gun that does not work well at all. Put a bit of effort into finding out all you can about paintball guns. Decide on a model or type of gun that you think suits your playing style best, and then do your research on that. Find out everything you can about that all your options. Talk to more experienced players who have used the gun you have in mind. Go online and read the paintball gun reviews published on the internet. Remember, not all guns are the same and similar prices don’t necessarily mean similar quality. You are sure to end up happier if you work these things out in the beginning.

Great aesthetic value does not mean good quality.
Buying good looking gun does not mean you’re buying a gun of good quality. Most guns that are of good quality do look good; however, some good looking guns don’t function well at all.

Buy a gun that can grow with you.
When just starting to play paintball, don’t go out and buy an expensive and flashy gun. Most expensive guns are difficult to maintain. You might end up having a hard time cleaning and maintaining your gun if you’re not familiar with paintball markers. Instead of buying the really expensive guns, try buying a gun at a moderate price. Buy a gun that has a lot of room for upgrades so that your gun can grow with you as a paintball player.

Find a gun that matches your personality and style.
When you gather information about a gun, don’t just look into its rate of fire, its reliability and the options for upgrade. Find some information on the type of maintenance a gun needs, whether it needs a lot of tweaking, or whether it will give you the option of tinkering with it or modifying it.

Do not neglect your safety!
Do not focus all your attention on buying a great gun. You should always remember that one of the most important pieces of equipment for paintball is your mask. The proper eye protection is needed to avoid any serious injuries while playing paintball.

A paintball gun can come with parts that allow for customization or upgrades. Most experienced paintball players will opt to upgrade or customize some parts of their guns rather than use a marker that was bought straight out of the store. These parts can be found rather easily on the internet through online searches. All you need to do is type in the words “paintball gun parts” and the search engine will provide you with hundreds of links to websites containing product information on the different customizable parts of a paintball gun. If you are looking for more specific parts, here are some of the customizable marker parts, together with a brief overview of each element.

The barrel.
Most paintball markers come with a good barrel; however, there is a great number of available upgrades in the market. An upgrade for your barrel can give you better accuracy, range and confidence. Different models of barrels have different customizable capabilities. Some barrels available in the market are also interchangeable. A good barrel is a very easy upgrade, easy enough for a newbie to the world of paintball, and should be your first modification to your paintball marker.

The air.
A paintball gun package would normally come with a 9 oz. tank of CO2, however, many players don’t find this tank optimal for achieving the best performance in the field. You can switch to any type of gas for your gun or use a different size of canister. Finding a tank that can work well for you and your gun will translate into less abuse on the internal parts of your gun and will also provide for a rather consistent velocity for every shot.

The stock.
A modified butt stock can be extremely valuable. A great buttstock for your gun can make aiming easier, provides more balance for the paintball gun and will also allow you to bring up the gun to the target at a faster speed. Modifying your stock will also improve your balance and will provide for constant eye relief. You can choose from a regular stock, a doglet stock for mask relief, a collapsible stock for fighting in close quarters and for boosting your maneuverability, or an air-through stock for your paintball gun modification. Changing your gun’s stock is also another easy modification to do on your marker.

The remote line.
The remote line gives you the chance to take the tank off of the paintball gun, allowing you carry the tank in a pack or a vest. This upgrade will significantly lighten your gun. When choosing to do this upgrade, choose a remote line that is known to be of good quality.

The trigger.
For those individuals who want to be constantly in the middle of the action, upgrading the marker’s trigger is a great modification. A modification on the trigger will improve the rate of fire from 8 or 9 balls per second to 12 or 15 balls per second.

The hopper.
The hopper is the part of the marker that holds the paintballs and lets the balls drop fall into the breech. You can choose to get a hopper that has an angled design to deflect the paintballs while avoiding the possibility of breaking the paintballs. You can also get a hopper that will leave your line of sight clear. Some hoppers will also allow for an increased capacity to carry paintballs.

The sights.
Most experienced players will tell you that the addition of a sight to your marker will allow you to increase your chance hitting your target with the first shot. Since the success of your first shot will determine whether you win or lose, any upgrade that increases your chances at making a hit is a great modification. You can choose from a red dot sight, a traditional scope or a night vision scope. Whichever type of sight you choose, you are sure to have an edge on the playing field.

These are just some of the parts of a paintball gun that you can change or upgrade. You can also try changing your handguards or foregrips or you can add silencers to your gun or give your marker a cosmetic upgrade. Whatever your choice, make sure your gun reflects and fits your playing style and personality.

Paintball gun packages or starter kits will give you almost all, if not all, the things needed to play paintball. The player kits, as they are sometimes called, include a mask, a hopper, an air tank, and occasionally, accessories for the maintenance and cleaning of your gun. These accessories include such items as squeegees, paintball gun oil and o-rings.

Purchasing a paintball gun package has two great advantages, and these are convenience and price. Buying a packaged gun means you can get almost everything you need at one time. You will not need to go to different stores to separately purchase different items. You can also save more money when you decide to purchase a paintball gun package. These packages will generally require you to shell out only a limited amount of cash as compared to buying the paintball equipment separately.

Paintball marker packages appear to be great deals for beginners and experienced players alike; however, not all paintball gun packages will give you the best value for your money. Here are a few things for you to consider when you buy a paintball gun package to make sure the package is best for you.

The paintball marker.
Does the paintball package you are considering have the type of gun you want? Accessory kits for different guns are widely available at some stores; on the other hand, a number of stores will have a rather limited selection, offering only certain packages for a particular brand name. If you find it hard to decide on one specific gun, then just go ahead and purchase a gun that comes with the package. However, do not buy a paintball gun for the sole reason that the gun comes with a kit. This should hold true especially if you would prefer to own a different kind of marker than the one offered with the package.

The mask.
Most gun packages come with a protective mask. Take a close look at the mask that comes with the package you are considering to purchase. Is it made of good quality? Remember, the mask is one of, if not the most important piece of equipment you will need for paintball. Make sure that the mask is durable, comfortable and does not fog up easily. Getting a “good price” for a mask is not worth it if you will not get to use the mask you’re paying that amount for.

The hopper.
Most of the hoppers that come with a paintball marker package are of the gravity-fed type. This type of hopper works well as long as your marker shoots at a speed of approximately 11 bps or less. However, if your gun has a faster speed, you will have to use an electro hopper. A gravity-fed hopper will only decrease your gun’s performance if you insist on using it.

The air tank.
A paintball gun package will come with an air tank and the majority of these tanks, if not all, are 9 ounce CO2 tanks. Ask yourself if this is the kind of air tank you want. If you want to use a nitro/HPA tank or perhaps a bigger CO2 tank, then the air tank that comes with the gun package may end up being worthless to you.

If the paintball marker package you are considering for purchase is produced by a manufacturer for a specific brand and does not have the equipment that you want, then it might be best if you just purchase all the equipment separately. However, if the package you are considering was put together at a paintball store, you can try to upgrade the equipment that is included in the package. It is always better to shell out a bit more cash for the things that you need and want, rather than to pay for things you have no use for.

Paintball guns are rather plentiful online. You can find brand new markers, packaged markers or even used or pre-owned paintball guns and equipment.

Paintball guns are used for a sport that has gained tremendous popularity in recent years. These markers have risen from its humble beginnings as a tool for foresters, transforming itself into the highly technological and specialized paintball gun we know now.

Any newbie to the world of paintball has numerous options on paintball guns and equipment, all thanks to the new advances in technology today. Any individual interested in paintball can purchase a paintball gun to suit his playing style and his skill level.

The equipment used for the game of paintball is widely available. This includes the safety gear, the paintballs and of course, the paintball guns. The equipment can be a bit expensive, and you should not be cheap about purchasing the paraphernalia needed for paintball, especially the safety gear. However, you can purchase a paintball marker at a cheap price and still get a gun that performs at a high level with a range of features.

Paintball guns can be found in specialized hobby stores; however, a great and easy way to find paintball guns is through the internet. There are numerous sites offering online that sell paintball guns. Aside from these websites, you can also go find paintball guns through online auction sites as well as the classified ads found on the internet.

Looking for web sites on paintball guns is very easy. All one has to do is type in the words “paintball guns” and click search. The search engine will do most of the work for you. There are thousands of websites on paintball guns, and it’s up to you on what site you choose. However, you can try narrowing your search down to a certain brand or type of paintball gun. You can type in the specific brand you like or the kind of gun. An example of a type of paintball gun would be a semi-automatic.

There are websites that are specifically made to cater to anyone who is interested in these types of guns. The long list of links might overwhelm you; however, you do need to go through a lot of web sites first before finding a gun that is suitable to your taste. On the other hand, you can also find the perfect gun for you on your first link if you are lucky enough. The best thing to keep in mind when searching through these websites is this: being informed is a good thing. Take in all the information you can, this will help you in finding the perfect paintball gun for yourself.

Paintball guns can also be found through online auction sites like ebay. These sites allow you to bid on an item you wish to purchase. You can also take advantage of these sites, sell your old equipment and earn some cash. Though these sites are very popular and will offer you great bargains, you also need to be careful when making your purchase through this kind of site. There are sharks out there that will go after any individual and cheat them of their money. Practice caution when purchasing through these online auction sites. Ask the vendor specific questions about the gun. Keep records of all your correspondence with the vendor. Ask for the picture of the gun you will be buying. Make sure you see what you will be getting before making the purchase. Ask about the shipment options. Look into how the payments will be made. If the deal sounds too good to be true, stay away from it! Remember, you should get the most out of your money. You don’t want to end up spending more on gun repair and service rather than on purchasing the marker in the first place.

Online classified ads will also feature some paintball guns. However, same with purchasing through online auction sites, you have to be extra careful with this kind of sale. Find out all you can about the gun before committing to a purchase. Also, make sure you can track down the vendor just in case something goes wrong with your purchase.

Just like a girl needs to kiss tons of frogs before getting to her prince, when looking for your paintball gun, you will have to go through a whole set of motions before finding the perfect match. Patience is a major factor in the selection process. And remember, an informed decision is always a good decision.

Since the rise of paintball’s popularity, there have been a lot of paintball guns available for sale. These paintball guns come in different types and are made for different skill levels and playing styles as well.

Paintball guns that are available for sale range from high end paintball guns to cheaply made paintball guns. You can purchase paintball guns for as low as $150, all you need is a bit of patience and you can find affordable paintball guns with great features.

Most paintball guns that are sold to beginners come in packages. These packages include air tanks, safety goggles, paintball gun oil, hoppers and the other basic paraphernalia needed for a paintball game and for paintball gun maintenance. These packages can be produced by either a paintball gun manufacturer or put together by a paintball gun store.

A marker is one of the most important equipment needed to play a game of paintball. Paintball guns started out as a forester’s tool for marking trees. Since the advent of the game of paintball, markers have grown in popularity among individuals who are into a game of action and strategy. Paintball guns have improved greatly through today’s technology. Paintball guns come in different types, including tournament type paintball guns, pumps, semi-automatics, electronic guns, pistols and stocks.

Paintball gun manufacturers also sell upgrades and paintball parts. These parts can include such items as barrels, air tanks, stocks, remote lines, triggers, sights, hand guards and even silencers. You can even have your paintball personalized through the use of a customized paint job.

For an individual who has the spare time to go on foot and search for a paintball gun, an outdoor store or a specialized hobby shop is a great place to start looking for paintball guns available for sale. The great thing about going to retail establishments to get your gun is the fact that you can actually examine the product and try it out yourself. You have the advantage of actually holding the product in your hands and seeing how it feels while you hold it or try aiming at a target.

Another excellent and rather easy way of finding paintball guns available for sale is through the World Wide Web. The internet is a great source of information on paintball guns, as well as news on the sale of different paintball markers from different manufacturers and retail establishments.

Finding online sales is very easy. A search engine is all you will ever need. You will be given a list of links to sites that have paintball markers for sale. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of these sites available. The search might become a bit tedious but you will need to go through this exercise to find the paintball gun best suited for yourself.

Another great way to finding paintball guns for sale is through monitoring online announcement boards or forums. These sites are usually the most updated and will contain the most recent information on paintball gun sales, as well as sales for paintball equipment and maintenance paraphernalia.

You can also try checking out the online sites of retail establishments and paintball gun manufacturers for announcements. Most stores and manufacturers will provide announcements for sales to the hordes of people looking through their products via the internet. Keep tabs on these sites and you are sure to find a great deal on paintball guns.
An online auction site is also a great way of finding a great bargain for paintball guns. You can also try looking through the classifieds for private vendors of paintball guns. However, you should be very careful when buying through these vendors. You want to avoid being ripped off.

The best way to get a great deal on paintball guns, brand new or used, is to be informed. Do your research on the product you intend to buy and always exercise caution.

The internet is a great tool for paintball fanatics who are looking for a great deal on used paintball guns. There are numerous online auctions that offer used markers for sale. You an also find pre-owned or used paintball guns through the classifieds. These auctions and ads offer either used evil paintball guns, spyders, tippman paintball guns and a whole range of brands of markers. The equipment offered through these outlets usually comes with a great price. You even have the option of selling your own old equipment through these auction sites, earning a bit of cash at the same time.

However, buying or dealing used equipment through these online auctions and classifieds can also come at a price. These outlets are an avenue for people involved in scams and cheaters who will usually jump at any opportunity to rip off any gullible customer.

Protect yourself. When going online to buy used paintball guns or markers, it is best to know what you are doing. Be informed and learn to spot scams and stay away from dishonest dealers.

Know the rules. The different auction sites online have different sets of rules. Find out how these sites operate. It is important that you find out if the auction site offers any aid for sellers and buyers and what type of assistance they offer. You should also know how they can help you with your purchase in the event that something goes wrong between you and the other party.

Know how the payments are made. Make sure you understand the way the payments will be made. Be sure you are comfortable with the manner specified by the vendor or the auction site. Most online transactions are done through an intermediary service such as Paypal. Using this option is a good idea. Be wary of people who ask for money transfers or wires. Most scams are accomplished through the use of such methods.

If a deal on a used gun sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Watch out for deals that sound off only the positives of the product being sold.

Do some research on the product you intend to buy or bid on. Some people use these online auction sites to sell items that are not reusable. Some individuals will also auction off URLs to the paintball equipment, and not the equipment itself. Watch out for these frauds. Remember, it pays to be informed.

Always ask for a photograph for the gear on sale. You need to know the kind of state the gun is in. And, don’t settle for a standard photo supplied by the manufacturing company. Make sure the gun in the photo is the gun you will be purchasing.

Some used paintball guns put up for sale are old models. Find out if the manufacturers of such guns are still in business. You might need them to service your purchase in the future. If the company that originally produced the gun is no longer in business, you should think twice about purchasing the gun. Buying a used gun is a risk, and you might end up spending more money on the repairs than on the gun itself. Do the research and protect yourself.

Keep a record of the correspondence you have with the vendor. If you have any questions, email the vendor directly. If the vendor only gives you vague answers regarding your concerns, then you’d better start looking for another deal – a better deal.

Inquire about the cost for having the equipment shipped to your location. If the ad does not contain any information on shipping, ask the vendor about it. The charge for the shipment of paintball equipment will usually cost you extra.

Do not fall for offers made through spam or unsolicited emails. These offers might be a good idea at the start, but if anything goes wrong, you are sure to have a very difficult time in tracking down the individual who sold you the product. Stay away from trouble and stick to online auctions or ads through the classifieds. Remember, it is always better to stay on the safe side.

Now, you can go and buy your used paintball marker online. Keep these tips in mind when considering any equipment. Always be informed and get the most out of your purchase.

With the large number of paintball guns available nowadays, searching for a marker that will suit your budget, your playing style and your needs can be rather difficult, especially if you are relatively new to the world of paintball; however, there is a way to make your search easier and that is by researching and reading on about the different existing types of guns via the paintball gun reviews available from your paintball magazines to online forums and sites.

Reviews on the different brands and types of paintball guns are available for your intellectual consumption online. These reviews will give you an insight onto the inner workings of every gun. A typical review will give you information on the marker’s specifications, its features, how it shoots, the maintenance and care needed to keep the paintball gun in good condition, as well as the upgrades and modifications that you can add to your gun to enhance its performance. Most of these reviews will also give you some facts and information on the gun pertaining to what sets it apart from the rest of the types and models available in the market.

The standard review will contain the general information about the gun. This information will include the specifications such as the firing modes, the trigger type, the kind of barrel, the air system, and the rate of fire among other things. A review will also tell you the choices you have as to the color of the gun you intend to purchase and what comes with the gun package upon purchase.

Aside from the basic specifications of a paintball marker, a conventional paintball gun review will tell you how the gun handles while out on the field. It will give you information on whether the gun chops, or if the trigger pull is too soft. A review will also tell you how the gun performs pertaining to accuracy and consistency of shots. Paintball gun reviews will also give you the information on how the gun works and what it runs on, if it runs on a certain type of battery and what not. It provides data on the air systems, what works well for the gun and what will get the best performance out of the marker. The review will also include information on whether the gun is easy to take apart for cleaning and maintenance, the kind of care needed is also usually included.

Apart from the information stated above, a good review will also give you some suggestions on the upgrades and modifications that you can have done on the paintball marker to make it work at the highest level. You can get information on how to make the gun quieter, or how to improve the accuracy and the consistency of velocity. You can also get information on how to reduce chopping, or on what air system to use on your gun.

For the best reviews on paintball markers and other paintball supplies and equipment, you can visit websites that paintball players contribute to. You can also find websites and online forums that are set up and maintained by individuals who play the game. This is probably the best source of the most reliable information on paintball guns. These paintball gun sites are the most reliable since the best way to learn about any paintball gun, how it works and what its quirks are is by using the paintball gun yourself. The players who contribute to these websites are probably the best people to ask about the guns they use since they have a lot of experience on using these guns. The paintball gun reviews from these websites have no garnishing whatsoever. The contributors will give you their honest opinion on the paintball gun so you will know whether you will be getting your money’s worth.

There are numerous ways to find sales that offer paintball guns as well as other paintball gear and equipment. Great places to look for these sales are through websites that contain information on the game of paintball, through online auctions, through online stores, discount stores and even through the classified ads, either online or through your local newspaper.

Here are some websites that offer paintball guns for sale:

Ebay
The online auction site Ebay, is one of, if not the most popular auction sites on the internet. You can find almost anything you want on Ebay, from tanning beds to bird feeders, anything and everything in between.

A lot of equipment and paraphernalia for the game of paintball can be found on this website. Most of the brand new gears sold through this online auction site are those being sold by smaller companies. However, you can also find some used paintball guns and equipment on Ebay.

Amazon.com now sells equipment for the game of paintball. Most of the paintball guns available on Amazon.com are brand new; however, you can find some previously owned paintball markers if you just look at the right places and if you look hard enough.

The Paintball Classifieds
Some individuals who are into the game of paintball will sell their old stuff after getting new ones through the classified ads. Some will post advertisements for used paintball markers as well as for other equipment as well. Such equipment can include barrels, air systems and other upgrades for your paintball markers.

Another great way to use the classifieds is for you to post your own ad. In case you have an old paintball marker that you are no longer using, you can put up an advertisement for that marker and earn a bit of extra cash while clearing up a bit of closet space.

Paintball-Guns.com

There are a lot more other sites out there that feature sales on paintball guns and the other paintball gun upgrades, as well as paintball supplies and equipment. The only thing you will need to be careful about is on searching for the right gun and making the purchase itself.

There are rules that govern this world of online sale sites. The best thing to do is to know the rules before instead of jumping head first in to the fray. Remember, different sites operate in different ways. What applies to one website may not apply to another, so be sure to know the little details first. You will also need to understand the way the payments will be made. You should be comfortable with the payment process. If you find yourself to be slightly apprehensive, then, the best thing to do is to stop, take a step back and head for another direction. There are lots of websites out there. You are sure to find the best one that can fit your security standards.

A great way to find information on the numerous brands and types of paintball guns is through online marker reviews. There are numerous product reviews for the different kinds and brands of paintball markers accessible online, what with the larger variety of available paintball guns, a novice to the world of paintball will need all the help he can get.

When planning to purchase a paintball gun, one should find a marker that fits his budget, suit his playing style and will cater to your needs as a player. This task can be rather overwhelming, especially for beginners in the world of paintball who only have a general idea about the game and do not know the little details that make up a great marker.

You can easily narrow your search down to just a couple of paintball guns by researching and reading through the different reviews on each paintball marker.
Discounted Paintball Guns: to buy or not to buy

When is the right time to buy discounted paintball guns and other paintball paraphernalia? Individuals who are new to the world of paintball are hounded by this question. Paintball is a rather expensive sport, and one would tend to do whatever they can just to get the cheapest and most affordable equipment available in the market today since not everyone has money to spare.

There are a ton of discounted paintball guns available. These markers can be found on the internet through online shops that feature not only paintball guns, but also the paraphernalia needed for paintball marker upgrades and modifications. These stores will also have paintball supplies and equipment available in store.

More often than not, one would gravitate to the more affordable paintball markers and paintball equipment, what with the numerous discounted and on sale paintball markers and supplies out there today. However, going the cheap way is not always advisable.

So, when is the right time to buy cheap? And when should you just forget your thrifty side and shell out the cash? The different paintball equipment will be discussed briefly and certain arguments will be pointed out to help you get to the right decision on these questions.

Paintball guns

For purely recreational players, you can get away with buying a cheap gun. Some recreational guns that are of good quality will only cost you about $150. However, you should be careful about the gun you are buying. Do your research before purchasing any paintball marker. Make sure that the gun you will be purchasing is of good standing in the paintball world in terms of reliability and upgradeable features.

For those individuals who play in the tournament circuit but are playing on small tourneys in the local fields, then you might be able to use a rather affordable paintball marker. However, if you are planning on something bigger, you might want to buy an electro pneumatic marker or a blow forward marker, both of which will knock you back around $350 at the very least.

Masks

Your mask is one of the most important equipment you need to play paintball safely; some players even consider the mask more important than the paintball marker itself. A good mask is essential for your safety when out on the field, so don’t skimp out when buying masks. Always get the best mask that you can afford, even if it means you will have to forego spending money on the other paintball equipment.

Cheap masks have a tendency to be uncomfortable, will shake as you run and will fog up easily. This holds true for the masks that come in paintball gun packages as well. So, be sure to buy the best mask, even if it is expensive. You will want to be as comfortable as you can be when on the playing field. You will also need a mask that fits snugly and does not fog up easily, because this way, you can focus on your game and worry about your line of sight less.

Air

There are a number of factors to consider when on the topic of air. One is whether the marker you have on hand works well with CO2, whether you shoot fast or whether or not you use your gun in extreme weather. If the gun you are using already works well with CO2, if you don’t shoot fast and if you don’t play in intense weather conditions, then the CO2 tank that comes with the paintball marker package is good enough.

For recreational players whose guns don’t work well with CO2, purchasing an expansion chamber is a good idea. The expansion chamber will help your marker work well while running on CO2 without compelling you to spend a lot of money.

For tourney players, or for those who have extremely picky guns, then purchasing a nitro/HPA system or a low pressure system is a good idea. These are rather on the expensive side of things but will get a reliable performance out of your paintball marker.

Barrels

For recreational paintball players, purchasing an aftermarket barrel is a good way to go. However, you can still get a good performance out of your gun without this upgrade. If an aftermarket barrel is beyond your budget, then you don’t really have to purchase one.

If you are a tournament player, you already have high end gun. Most expensive guns come with good stock barrels. However, you can always purchase a two piece barrel set. This way, you have the option of matching your barrel bore to the paint you use. You can also match your playing style with the length of the barrel you are using.

Playing with a 32 degrees paintball gun is an altogether different experience as compared to playing with your regular, run of the mill paintball marker.

The 32 degrees PT Extreme paintball gun is a pistol and using a pistol for a game of paintball allows you to save money on paint. It is also rather undersized and with a small profile, allowing you to carry it easier while in play. Using a pistol for a paintball game can serve as a great backup for your main marker.

One disadvantage of using a pistol for a paintball game is that it requires you to reload your marker rather frequently. Pistols require you to reload after every 10 shots, a far cry from a typical paintball marker. A pistol’s range is also rather limited, having only a range that measures to a maximum of tens of feet instead of the hundreds.

The price of a 32 degree PT Extreme pistol ranges from $ 105 to 120. A 32 degrees paintball gun is of a semi-automatic type, with a 10 round feed capacity and needs a 12 gram CO2 air tank. This gun has a quick release cartridge.

The PT Extreme pistol’s capabilities will be discussed in terms of the shooting range and accuracy, the kind of care and maintenance needed to keep the gun in good condition, the accessories available for the gun and the upgrades available.

Range and Accuracy:
The PT Extreme is a great weapon for encounters within a close range, much like any other paintball pistol. It has an average rate of balls per second but still has the disadvantage of the frequent reloading. The PT Extreme also uses up a 12 gram air tank for every 15 – 30 shots. Some users of the PT Extreme have also reported chopping and a continuous low velocity.

Care and Maintenance:
A lot of PT Extreme owners have reported leakage problems and malfunctioning springs. The air leakage can be quite a hassle considering the gun only supports 12 grams of air. The bolt of the PT Extreme has also been found to warp. However, despite the few design flaws in this paintball gun, it is still rather easy to take apart, clean and put back together again.

Gun Accessories:
Accessories are a great way to make the use of your PT Extreme, or any gun for that matter, easier. You can purchase a wrist pack for use in carrying your extra 12 gram air tank. There are also extra magazines available or 10 round tubes for use in reloading paint faster. You can also purchase a holster to hold your pistol and the extra paint you are carrying around.

Gun Upgrades:
The only upgrade that can be considered even halfway decent for this paintball gun is a new barrel. One can make the argument that you can upgrade your PT Extreme with a hopper and a bottomline, but that would be defeating the purpose of purchasing a pistol type gun in the first place. On the other hand, if you have grown tired of having to change your 12 gram air tank all the time, then you can opt to purchase a smaller 3 or 4 oz CO2 and use it with your gun. You can put the line backwards so the tank is positioned below the PT Extreme instead of behind the gun.

If you do want to get a pistol, you can get a pistol type paintball gun for about the same price as the PT Extreme, but with slightly better features. However, if you are in the market for a regular paintball gun, you can purchase a regular semi-automatic marker with good features for about the same price as the PT Extreme.

If you are looking for a Sniper paintball gun, you will need to consider a gun’s accuracy, the sound, the air system and the gun barrel combination. High-end guns are very accurate and will make good sniper paintball guns. However, you do not need to purchase a very expensive paintball gun to actually be a good sniper. Whatever gun you decide to buy, just learn how to shoot it well and maintain the gun zealously.

Paintball snipers are very different from real life military snipers; on the other hand, paintball snipers can also provide his team with a great advantage especially when playing WoodsballTM.

For a sniper paintball gun, most markers will do. Some players use pumps while other players use semi automatics. The best rule to follow when looking for a sniper paintball gun is: the quieter the gun, the better.

Another feature necessary for a sniper paintball gun is a low profile. This is extremely useful for crawling easily and for over the barrel sightings during any encounters in the game. You can have a remote source of air for your gun to lower your gun’s profile and allow you to crawl easier also. A good marker will cost you anywhere from $150 dollars or more.

A great modification for a sniper paintball gun is the barrel. Some barrels can make a huge difference in the accuracy and velocity of your shot. Some barrels will allow you to reach a farther distance. The Tippmann Flatline barrel provides a further range as compared with other barrels. Other barrels like the Stiffi are also quieter compared to other barrels. This is a great advantage for would be snipers. You can also get a straight barrel to give your gun better accuracy at normal distances. Most barrels will cost you about $50-$150.

The Icon Z Sniper paintball marker features a high end 1×30 electronic red dot scope, made of metal, for pin point accuracy. The scope is attached to the gun via an offset rail that moves the scope about an inch to the side (left), providing you a clear view, unblocked by the hopper. It can also be calibrated to adjust to the wind and can also be adjusted in terms of elevation to give you a more precise aim.

A shoulder stock has been integrated into the gun design. This stock can be extended to several positions and also has the added option of being folded away when you are not in play. A 16 inch barrel is also included for better accuracy.

The Colston 32 Degrees Icon Z Sniper Paintball gun features vertical ball feed. This paintball marker is a .68 caliber semi-automatic paintball gun, with a low pressure chamber. It has a quick disconnect pin, a tournament velocity adjuster, a deluxe sight rail, drop forward, an aircraft grade upper receiver made of aluminum and a rubber wrapped fore grip.

The Dragun TES Tactical Electronic Sniper

The Dragun TES Tactical Electronic Sniper will cost you about $200-240 dollars. This product is still available in the market, however, the manufacturers of this product, Dragun Empire, has gone out of business.

The Dragun TES Tactical Electronic Sniper has an optic sensor, an LCD screen to provide information about the game time and as shot counter, a double trigger. This is a drop forward gun, with a regulator and a top cocking bolt. It features a low pressure operation, with a 12 inch stock barrel and comes in 7 different colors.

The Dragun TES Tactical is an electronic blow back paintball gun. This gun is fast, quiet, accurate and durable. The Dragun TES Tactical Electronic gun is good for recreational paintball players; however, if you are the type of player that wants to get the most out of any paintball marker, you might be better off spending a little bit more money on a gun that features a better design and better internal systems.

There are numerous more guns for snipers out there. However, no one gun can provide you with the skill needed to become a successful sniper. All one really needs is accuracy and consistency with his shots, and the marker is only a tool to help you achieve that.

The tipmann has been hailed to be one of the more superior guns available in the market today. A gun from the Tippmann line is great for playing woodsball™. Woodsball™ is a game of paintball played in the woods, open fields or in deserts. Some people have said that the best gun for any game of woodsball™ is one from the Tippmann line of guns.

The Tippmann line has a number of guns under its name. These guns are of extremely high quality and are very easy to handle, especially when on the move. Tippmann guns have a reliable consistent blow-back system. These paintball markers also require easy maintenance, and are uncomplicated when it comes to paintball gun tuning and repair. Here is a look at the lineup of Tippmann guns available in the market today.

The Tippmann Pro/Carbine

Tippmann’s Pro/Carbine is one of the simplest paintball markers around today. It has a limited number of moving parts, translating into a minimal chance of getting the gun wrecked. Most guns that are available for rent at paintball fields are Pro/Carbine guns.

The Tippmann Pro/Carbine has a long, sleek look. Its blow-back system runs in line. It also has the bolt and hammer contained with in the cylindrically shaped cast-aluminum housing.

The Pro/Carbine from Tippmann will cost you up to about $150. However, despite the ease of use and maintenance that this gun provides, the Pro/Carbine marker is not very accommodating to changes and customizations since this model only has a few modifications available.

The Tippmann Custom 98

The Tippmann Custom 98 is also known as Model 98. This paintball marker has a lot in common with the Tippmann Pro/Carbine. The same with the aforementioned paintball marker, the Custom 98 has a blow-back system that is very reliable and is not a hassle to maintain. The Custom 98 also has the same sleek look as the Pro/Carbine. This Tippmann model also features an in-line bolt and hammer.

The Custom 98 can be compared to the Pro/Carbine in from and function, however, one major advantage of this Tippmann gun over its Pro/Carbine counter part is in the aspect of paintball gun customization. The Custom 98 model has a variety of air systems, bolts, barrels, sights available for modifying and customizing your paintball gun.

This Tippmann model also includes a rotating feed neck feature, allowing you to clean the barrel of the gun easily. This model also features a velocity adjustment attribute via a simple allen-screw.

The Tippmann Custom 98 or Model 98, priced at approximately $140, is arguably the most popular paintball marker. You are sure to be in good company if you decide to get one for yourself.

The Tippmann A-5

Without question, the Tippmann A-5 is considered to be the best out of all the guns in the Tippmann lineup. This Tippmann marker provides its owner a rather wide range of possibilities in gun customization with its numerous upgradeable features.

The base Tippmann A-5 model comes with a Cyclone Feed, a revolutionary system that operates even better than most expensive tournament quality hopper systems. The Cyclone Feed system feeds the paintballs into your marker without chopping, at a very high speed. This is an absolute must for fully automatic firing.

Priced at approximately $230, the Tippmann A-5 receiver is a bit shorter compared to the Custom 98 or the Pro/Carbine models from Tippmann. This marker looks a lot like the MP5K PDW from Heckler & Koch, which is one of the most well-liked and widely accepted sub-machine guns all over the world.

Which ever gun from the Tippmann Lineup you do decide to use, you are sure to be in for a treat. Tippmann guns are widely known as guns of extremely high quality, with great avenues for gun customization and personalization. You will not go wrong with a Tippmann purchase.
