A paintball gun can come with parts that allow for customization or upgrades. Most experienced paintball players will opt to upgrade or customize some parts of their guns rather than use a marker that was bought straight out of the store. These parts can be found rather easily on the internet through online searches. All you need to do is type in the words “paintball gun parts” and the search engine will provide you with hundreds of links to websites containing product information on the different customizable parts of a paintball gun. If you are looking for more specific parts, here are some of the customizable marker parts, together with a brief overview of each element.
The barrel.
Most paintball markers come with a good barrel; however, there is a great number of available upgrades in the market. An upgrade for your barrel can give you better accuracy, range and confidence. Different models of barrels have different customizable capabilities. Some barrels available in the market are also interchangeable. A good barrel is a very easy upgrade, easy enough for a newbie to the world of paintball, and should be your first modification to your paintball marker.
The air.
A paintball gun package would normally come with a 9 oz. tank of CO2, however, many players don’t find this tank optimal for achieving the best performance in the field. You can switch to any type of gas for your gun or use a different size of canister. Finding a tank that can work well for you and your gun will translate into less abuse on the internal parts of your gun and will also provide for a rather consistent velocity for every shot.
The stock.
A modified butt stock can be extremely valuable. A great buttstock for your gun can make aiming easier, provides more balance for the paintball gun and will also allow you to bring up the gun to the target at a faster speed. Modifying your stock will also improve your balance and will provide for constant eye relief. You can choose from a regular stock, a doglet stock for mask relief, a collapsible stock for fighting in close quarters and for boosting your maneuverability, or an air-through stock for your paintball gun modification. Changing your gun’s stock is also another easy modification to do on your marker.
The remote line.
The remote line gives you the chance to take the tank off of the paintball gun, allowing you carry the tank in a pack or a vest. This upgrade will significantly lighten your gun. When choosing to do this upgrade, choose a remote line that is known to be of good quality.
The trigger.
For those individuals who want to be constantly in the middle of the action, upgrading the marker’s trigger is a great modification. A modification on the trigger will improve the rate of fire from 8 or 9 balls per second to 12 or 15 balls per second.
The hopper.
The hopper is the part of the marker that holds the paintballs and lets the balls drop fall into the breech. You can choose to get a hopper that has an angled design to deflect the paintballs while avoiding the possibility of breaking the paintballs. You can also get a hopper that will leave your line of sight clear. Some hoppers will also allow for an increased capacity to carry paintballs.
The sights.
Most experienced players will tell you that the addition of a sight to your marker will allow you to increase your chance hitting your target with the first shot. Since the success of your first shot will determine whether you win or lose, any upgrade that increases your chances at making a hit is a great modification. You can choose from a red dot sight, a traditional scope or a night vision scope. Whichever type of sight you choose, you are sure to have an edge on the playing field.
These are just some of the parts of a paintball gun that you can change or upgrade. You can also try changing your handguards or foregrips or you can add silencers to your gun or give your marker a cosmetic upgrade. Whatever your choice, make sure your gun reflects and fits your playing style and personality.
